Why choose a Wellness Coach/Coaching?

If you are feeling stuck in your health journey, or unsure of how to accomplish what you have been trying to do on your own, then having a Wellness Coach would be highly beneficial to you and your life. Navigating all that life throws at you, while maintaining balance and proper health can present a huge challenge, and the knowledge, specialty and empathy a Wellness Coach brings is often the key factor for an individual achieving life-long change, instead of a "quick fix" like many of those in the "health world" advertise. If you are ready to do the work and have someone believe in and guide you along the way, then you are someone who would highly benefit from hiring a Wellness Coach!

Why work with me, specifically?

Part of why I became a Wellness Coach was to offer others what I wish I had while learning to take care of myself, experiencing low confidence and processing change + grief: accountability, empathy, education and support. As someone who has recovered from an eating disorder, live with anxiety and depression and also gone through heartbreak and loss, I understand how fragile our emotional state can be and that taking care of ourselves can be our last priority. This is why empathy and a "no judgement" space is what I provide to all my clients, as well as asking the questions required for growth and reflection. While working with me, you will find a Coach who isn't focused on making sure you "get it right", but helping you find what is right for you.

What exactly is a Wellness Coach?

A Wellness Coach, sometimes referred to as a Health Coach, is a supportive guide who helps clients find and set goals related to their health, such as to lose weight, find energy, manage stress or build healthier habits. A great coach also believes that every client is the expert of themselves; meaning they will ask the appropriate questions to aid the client in achieving change and growth, instead of "telling" the client what to do. There are so many facets to our health, such as movement, nutrition, stress relief and emotional stability that having a Wellness Coach in your corner can be crucial to finding what works best do your and your future health.

What is the difference between a Wellness Coach and a Licensed Therapist?

The primary difference between a Coach and a Therapist is the focus of their work. Therapists tend to focus more on the past and cognitions (aka beliefs), while Coaches focus on the present and behaviors. Both can work together for a client, and at any time, if I trust that a client is in need of mental health counseling, I will take the proper steps and refer them to a mental health specialist.

Why is physical health as important as mental health and vice-versa?

Thankfully, our bodies and its systems were made to work in harmony, and when one part of the equation is thriving or blossoming, all the others tend to benefit from it as well. The opposite is true; when one aspect, such as our mental health, is struggling, it is more likely that we will notice dips in other aspects of our health, such as our physical body.

This is why coaching takes a "holistic" view on health: not just looking at one facet, but understanding that for us to feel balanced, our bodies, minds and spirits must be working for each other, not against.

I am currently healing from an injury or have an illness/disease that affects my movement/limitations. Can I still get an exercise plan from you?

Absolutely! Whether you are living with fibromyalgia, knee pain, MS, or arthritis, I have gained experience in training and working with many different forms of limitations. My goal is to keep all bodies moving healthily and functionally, so based on your specific needs and concerns, I will cater your plan to meet you where you are.

How can I start working with you?

Currently, the best way to begin working with me as your Coach is to send me an email at info@betterlivingwithliz.com or call me at (850)-450-5060. We can set up a free 20-minute discovery call with me to find out if we are best suited to work together and then we will go from there!

If you interested in an exercise program, email or call me using the above information and state that is what you are looking for. I will send you a few forms and you can expect your plan within 5 days!

I just received my workout plan... what if I don't know how to do an exercise or routine?

You won't be alone, I promise! If you begin your personalized workout program that I have sent you and are unsure how to perform a movement or even what a set is, you will be able to text me for support and questions, and I will send either a video or picture to explain what it is that you need.
